About Tiger Claw
Master J Douglas founded Tiger Claw on the principles of teaching excellence, personal attention, and tradition. Today, even though we have several instructors, basic and advanced classes, and a variety of students at different belt levels, our school still prides itself on those founding qualities.
Safe, Friendly Environment
Tiger Claw is located in Leesburg, VA on Catoctin Circle next to Subway. There's a fully stocked pro-shop with all the gear you need for class and our knowledgeable front desk staff is on hand during class times to help. It's a priority at Tiger Claw to provide you a safe, friendly environment to learn. We keep our bathrooms clean, our workout areas clean, and try to make you as comfortable as possible.
Teaching Excellence
Our instructors are trained not only in martial arts, but in effectively communicating their knowledge of the art to students of all ages. Maintaining teaching excellence requires them to continuously upgrade their skills through our Instructor Education Program (IEP).
Our programs promote self-defense skills and personal development for each student. Individual attention is a feature of each class, allowing Tiger Claw students to progress toward their personal goals. Our instructors take their responsibility as role models seriously, teaching the importance of character, leadership, and good values.
Our application of centuries-old knowledge and technique sets Tiger Claw apart from other schools. Each class takes a modern approach to an art rich with tradition. Our students learn about the history of martial arts, the Korean language, and about what different techniques symbolize in ancient tradition. We teach respect and discipline, and often participate in ceremonial activities, but we don't take all the fun out of doing the sport!
